YOU AND YOUR TEETH
Oral hygiene is an essential aspect of our general health, especially since we only get one set of adult teeth in our lifetime. Yet it is an aspect of our body that we often neglect and it is of paramount that we keep it healthy. Our team is very passionate about bringing change, and we would like to you to be part of our efforts to promote a healthier lifestyle for our children.
Our team understands that oral hygiene is a major issue in the borough of Tower Hamlets. As the saying, ‘prevention is always better than cure’ goes, the best way to improve oral hygiene in Tower Hamlets is to promote good oral hygiene and inculcate in them good habits that can stay with them through life.
According to the NHS Joint Strategic Assessment Needs in Tower Hamlets:
* 39% of Adults suffer from tooth decay
* 77% of Adults suffer from gum disease
* 96% have visible debris on their teeth
* 45.9% of children have tooth decay, higher than the national average of 27.9%
We believe that children learn best when are involved in the learning process. We intend to incorporate games designed to improve understanding of oral health into our presentation to make the presentation a memorable experience. We will also be demonstrating the proper teeth-brushing techniques. These sessions will also include other activities that the children can participate in.
