Who are we?
Queen Mary Enactus is a student-run enterprise society at Queen Mary, University of London. We are one of the 56 university teams that make up Enactus UK which is part of the international non-profit organisation Enactus Worldwide.
Over 2600 student members, nearly 200 different social projects, 111,637 hours volunteered, Enactus UK has helped to change the lives of many people, both locally and globally, for the better.
Student, academic and business leaders work together to transform the lives of people in need and shape a better, more sustainable world through the use of entrepreneurial action.
What does it stand for?
Having the perspective to see an opportunity and the talent to create value from that opportunity;
The willingness to do something and the commitment to see it through even when the outcome is not guaranteed;
A group of people who see themselves connected in some important way; individuals that are part of a greater whole.
What does it mean?
Enactus is about developing the entrepreneurial and enterprising skills of students in a way that benefits their future career and their community. Students from all subjects can take part and together they form their own University teams which they run themselves to develop projects that are sustainable and have economic benefits for others. Projects are aimed at improving the quality of life and standard of living of the target group by empowering them.
